Carrie Morris Art Productions (CMAP) has accumulated property through purchasing vacant interconnected lots in Hamtramck, where they put on different types of puppet theater for local kids. The vacant lots become a usable public space where people are playing soccer etc though also attract large scale dumping. CMAP needed a new type of architecture which allowed pedestrian walk-throughs to these lots, while restricting dumping. This had to aesthetically transcend bollards or blockades, and ideally encourage play. The project became a pedestrian permeable play structure fence.
